The Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE) received a financial boost today, for the work they do in the Erie community.

Members of the LGBT Community Endowment presented GEAE with a $5,000 grant.

It will help a project that funds a full year of robust counseling and support services for LGBT youth.

"This grant will expand our outreach to the youth," said Cody Empey, GEAE. "So, in the past 2 years we've been able to reach about 150 youth, going forward with this grant should almost double that youth contact that we have within the county, especially within the rural areas of the county as well."

They collaborate with and organization called Journey to a Trauma Informed Life, which helps LGBT youth exists, connect, and affirm each other in a safe environment.

The LGBT Community Endowment said their mission is to provide financial support to non-profits and projects that improve the lives of the LGBTQ+ community in Erie.
