November Fundraiser to Benefit Paul Yoculan Memorial Scholarship
Former musician and youth baseball coach Paul Yoculan passed away nearly three years ago, but his positive spirit continues to be felt in the Erie community.
A memorial scholarship has been set up as a lasting tribute.
Yoculan and his band played at the first Celebrate Erie in 1977, and some of his favorite songs will be played at a scholarship dance Nov. 19.
Committee members and officials at Mercyhurst Prep met at Rainbow Gardens on Monday to announce the musical lineup.
The Wave, BB-2, Ron Seggi and Yoculan's former band Ruby Port will take the stage in his memory
"Thousands of people have been asking me about this for years, and it's finally going to come to fruition," said Paul Yoculan Jr., committee member. "The whole purpose is to have young people can benefit from something in my father's name."
Yoculan also coached for 40 years. Proceeds will benefit the Paul Yoculan Memorial Scholarship Fund at Mercyhurst Prep.
Tickets are $15. They can be purchased by calling 814-882-5211 or by email.
