The Hagan History Center hosted its annual gala and debuted a new exhibit on Friday evening.

The event at the historic, mansion on West Sixth Street was in honor of the new "Celebration of the Curtze legacy" exhibit.

The exhibit on the second floor of the Watson-Curtze mansion features furniture, paintings and many Curtze family possessions.

Frederick Felix Curtze purchased the mansion in 1923.  The Curtze family donated the home to the Erie School District when Curtze died. It later became a staple for the Hagen History Center.

Caleb Pifer, the Executive Director of the Hagen History Center said new exhibits like these are all part of how we  preserve and remember Erie's story.

The new exhibits will open to the public officially on Saturday.
