Erie Seawolves Set to Play Richmond in First Playoff Game
The Erie Seawolves are in celebration mode this morning, but not for long.
While much of the sports world had its focus on football Sunday, the Seawolves were trying to make the Eastern League Baseball Playoffs, and it all came down the final day of the regular season.
The Seawolves needed either to win their game Sunday, or have Bowie lose theirs.
Richmond wrapped up the week long series with a 3-1 win at UPMC park, so the wolves would need some help. If the were going to make a trip to the post-season.
That meant we needed our rivals from Akron to beat the Bowie Baysox, and that they did.
That 8-5 Rubber Ducks victory clinched the second half title and helped send Erie to the playoffs.
However, there's no rest for the weary, the first game in that best-of-three series against Richmond, is set for tomorrow night at UPMC Park.
