Vietnam Reflections Features Titusville High School Graduate
Dale Henderson was attending Clarion State College when he got the call to serve.
He went right into the Air Force and arrived in Vietnam in 1969.
Henderson told Erie News Now, "Vietnam was an interruption in life and anyone who was there and said they were not afraid, is not telling the truth."
His duties included running a Liquid Oxygen Plant and the oxygen was used by aircrafts and hospitals.
He also dealt with some very tense moments. Henderson knew rocket attacks were coming and coming in heavy doses.
"At that age, you think you are invincible, and you are just trying to keep your head straight. I'm not sure any of us did that."
After his tour of duty ended, he returned to Titusville and joined his father's business.
Along with his twin brother, he helped run Henderson Electric for decades.
His son currently runs the business, located on 210 W. Central Avenue in Titusville.
