Animals at the Erie Zoo Showcase their Skills at the Animals are the Artists Art Show
Two times a year animals at the Erie Zoo showcase their creativity through art. This Friday their work is up for sale at the zoo, and it will be this weekend too.
Its called the Animals are the Artists art show, more than 15 years in the making.
The event happens in both the spring and fall, and is a fund raiser for the Zoo. It's also a chance for zoo or animals lovers to purchase one of a kind work.
"We have some very surprising artists in the group," said Emily Smicker, Erie Zoo Marketing and Events Coordinator. "We have all kinds of things like paw prints from the tigers and lions, we have a tail print from a porcupine and the otters make their own little water colors."
The Zoo uses non toxic, veterinarian approved paint with the animals. The artwork is on sale at the Zoo until 7:00 p.m. Friday night.
You don't need to pay an admission fee if coming to purchase the animal artwork at the Zoo.
