Saturday was a special night to honor the memory of legendary singer and baseball coach Paul Yoculan Sr. and for the Legacy of Baseball Scholarships in his name at Mercyhurst Prep.

About 1,400 people turned out at Rainbow Gardens to show how much they loved Paul Yoculan and learned from him.

Erie News Now's Mike Ruzzi was emcee for the event.

Yoculan made his mark in music, with the Epics and the Younger Brothers.  But he was also an assistant baseball coach at Mercyhurst Prep.

Paul Yoculan Jr. was moved by the turnout.

Some big names there including former Mercyhurst and Pitt coach Joe Jordano.  They raised enough money to fund a permanent Yoculan Scholarship.
