Federal Hill Smokehouse's owner & pitmaster, Ryan Atzert, says he spent "33 hours straight" smoking turkeys for families on Thanksgiving.

"The day before Thanksgiving is [always] really, really busy," says Atzert. "So I just got through the day and then as soon as that ended and everybody picked up their turkeys last night at 6 p.m., and from there I just started cooking the turkeys from the day for today. Started about 7:00 last night and got done about three today."

Atzert says this year he cooked 94 turkeys single-handedly. He says he sees the challenge as his own personal "Iron Man Competition."

"To me, I think it's a big challenge," continued Atzert. "Like every year I try to push myself to do more. And you know, I always dread this day, but at the end of it, I'm real happy with how it goes. People always come in and buy them. So, you know, people love it. It's really cool. It's something I really like to do."

Despite Atzert's long hours, he says Federal Hill Smokehouse will be open for regular hours again tomorrow, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
