The Loyal Christian Benefit Association along with the Bethany Outreach Center partnered to hold the third annual Sock and Glove Day Event.

The LCBA donated $1,000 and over 650 pairs of gloves to the Center to help families in need.

Volunteers and staff from were joined by Mercyhurst students to distribute food for people who qualify. They provide food every Wednesday from 9 a.m. -11 a.m., and they also provide clothing to people every week.

Barr, explained the reason for the generosity, “One of our former branches founded Bethany Outreach years ago, and so we just continued that partnership and we’re glad that they’re still going strong here in Erie.”

Mabeline Howard, the Executive Director of the Bethany Outreach Center, said this isn’t the first time that the LCBA has helped them, “They also help us kick start our Got Gloves campaign purchasing our first 1,000 pairs of gloves to cover the hands of the community.”

Duryea Paige, a volunteer at the Center, encouraged other people to help out, “If you are in the community and have a church that you can go drop off gloves to, that would be awesome.”
