City of Erie Police on Thursday issued arrest warrants for four people in a robbery turned murder at a short-term rental home earlier this year.

Julia Gaerttner, 32, of Lawrence Park; Marsea Jones, 20, of Erie; Jamie Smith Jr., 20, of Erie; and Derrick S. Wright, 35, of Erie, are each charged with homicide, second-degree murder, robbery and other offenses.

The three male suspects were already in prison. Police arrested Gaerttner on Thursday.

The four are accused of barging into a short-term rental house on McClelland Ave. the early morning of Jan. 27 to rob the people inside.

One of the people inside fired back, and 30-year-old Erie resident Shannon Crosby was killed in the shootout, according to police.

The people inside the house were from Arizona and admitted to police to travelling to Erie in order to sell fentanyl pills to a local contact for $30,000, police said.

The arrests follow an 11-month-long investigation involving forensic evidence, eyewitnesses and consultation with the district attorney's office.
