Erie County Councilman Brian Shank will once again serve as chairman of council.  

In a 4 to 3 vote, County Council selected Shank to serve as Chairman for 2023. While serving as chair, Shank said one of his proudest accomplishments, is helping to provide funding for Project Resolve. 

Moving forward, one of his top priorities, is figuring out what to do with Pleasant Ridge Manor. 

"We all need to come together.  Last year was tough. We have a new County Executive. There was a lot of political standing going on," said Shank. "A lot of political stances. That's fine. A little name calling, little gesturing, that's fine. But, we're here to do our job. And our job is complicated, had enough without the political back spins on stuff."

County Councilwoman Mary Rennie will also serve as Co-chair of council, for the second year in a row.
