The winter sport of curling made its way back to Downtown Erie on Wednesday night.

The Erie Downtown Development Corporation brought back the popular Flagship City Curling League.

This time the League's taking place indoors on the third floor of the Bonnell building on the East side of State Street near 5th.

The courts use synthetic ice, much like the rink in Perry Square, which allows for the indoor action.

14 teams will play tournament style every week leading up to playoffs, all with the hopes of bringing new exposure to Downtown Erie.

"Yeah, we are just so excited to bring people to Downtown Erie. That's what this whole mission is about, is bringing people to Downtown Erie," said Ryan Hoover, Experience Director. "And we couldn't be more excited to show them these beautiful new buildings."

The League slides the stones on Wednesday and Thursday nights for the next six weeks.
