Lake City Fire Company & West County Paramedics Assist Pennsylvania State Police with Elk Creek Rescue
The Lake City Fire Company and West County Paramedics were dispatched to assist Pennsylvania State Police with a search & rescue on Thursday night.
Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) were investigating reports of a yell for help behind a residence off North Creek Rd.
PSP was able to locate the individual along the band of Elk Creek under the Norfolk Southern Trestle.
The Lake City Fire Company said in a Facebook post that the male was stuck on one of the pillars under the trestle right above Elk Creek.
After locating the individual, additional personnel was requested from the Lake Shore Fire Department, Fairview Fire & Rescue, and A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co..
A rescue technician repelled down and secured the individual. Rigging was setup on the high ground to lift both the rescue technician and the individual up and out of the creek bed.
The individual was transported to Hamot Hospital in a waiting West County Ambulance.
