17 Year Old Suffers Severe Injuries in McKean Crash
A crash in McKean sent a 17-year-old Waterford driver to the hospital Wednesday.
It was reported around 9:22 a.m. in the 10800 block of Oliver Rd. south of McLaughlin Rd.
The male driver was traveling south when he lost control and crashed into a tree, according to firefighters at the scene.
We're told the force of the crash ripped the front portion of the vehicle off.
Rescue crews had to use a firetruck and a tow truck to pull the car from the tree in which it became wrapped around.
It took crews nearly two hours to extract the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was taken to UPMC Hamot with severe injuries.
A severe snowstorm caused low visibility and slick road conditions at the time, and the driver was traveling at a speed too fast from conditions, troopers said.
