Edinboro Chocolaterie Creates Chocolate Dipped Creations for All Occasions: Community Gems
This week's Community Gem will warm your heart, especially with Valentine's Day approaching.
It's not 3 month old Josie Duda's first time at a chocolate shop.
"I think we came here right after she was born," said Danielle Duda. "She was born on Halloween, so we came here for Christmas and now Valentine's Day."
Mom, Danielle Duda is a self proclaimed chocolate lover, and says she has found her community gem close to home.
It's Edinboro Chocolaterie.
The quaint locally owned store is quickly being noticed for its savory chocolate selections, from meltaways or crunchy deliciousness to chocolate covered fruit.
It's the livelihood of Sandra Steinheiser.
Sandy as she's known opened Edinboro Chocolatierie in 2019 after her and her family spent years perfecting pieces in a different location.
"I sold our other business in Butler, Pennsylvania. My husband and I had that I was tired of driving 100 miles one way to work so I thought I'll open up a place closer to home," said Sandy.
The Erie County resident has a cross trained, intimate staff, helping make all offerings in the back to checking out customer purchases in the front.
Millcreek residents recommended to try it out, and the Erie News Now team was not disappointed.
Any of the items can be ordered online for pick up or sent just about anywhere.
"We ship to Germany," said Sandy. "We've shipped wherever you want."
Homemade caramel and cream right from Erie County
"All of our nuts, all of our clusters, I hand dip them," said Sandy.
No doubt holidays are high times for chocolate making, with Thanksgiving to Easter being the busiest.
Family comes in to help with orders
"We kind of put chocolate on everything. If someone has a special request we try to fill it," said Sandy. "We have even done cream cheese. Whatever they like if we can accommodate it we do it. We have a lot of weddings, a lot of showers a lot of fundraisers."
