The City of Erie is reminding residents that the public meeting to discuss the State Street streetscape project will take place on Wednesday night at City Hall. 

The streetscape project will include multiple phases of upgrades from 2nd to 12th streets. 

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 29th from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Phase one of the project will cover areas from South Park Row to 12th St. It is expected to completed by early 2024. Phase one will include: 

  • New concrete curbs 
  • Decorative LED lighting with new light poles 
  • Soil cells, which are used for sediment control and better future tree health 
  • Expanded green space, which will be strips of grass along the curb

Future phases may include the following: 

  • ADA-compliant curb ramps 
  • New sidewalks 
  • Lead walks, which will connect the roadway to the sidewalks through the new green spaces

The meeting will focus on phase one of the State Street streetscape project, but the public will be allowed to comment on the project as a whole.
