Saturday was a special afternoon for choral music lovers, as the choruses of Erie Philharmonic offered a free concert for the community.

A big crowd turned out for the performance of Hoopla, hosted at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

It was a combined concert of the Erie Philharmonic Chorus, Chamber Choir and Youth Chorale. Each ensemble performed individually and then joined their voices together for portions of the program.

The selections included the music of Copeland, Burleigh, Bach, Britten, Shaw and more.

The chorus is under the direction of Tom Brooks.  The youth musicians are under the direction of Sharon Downey.

Coming up next for the Erie Philharmonic, world renowned violinist Midori performs with the Erie Philharmonic orchestra Saturday, March 25 at the Warner Theatre.
