Just days before the start of the 2023 season, the Erie SeaWolves announced their Opening Day roster.

The roster has several returning players from the team that nearly won the Eastern League Championship. Top pitching prospects Wilmer Flores and Ty Madden will anchor the rotation. Spencer Gipson-Long who was acquired in a trade mid-season returns. The rest of the rotation is rounded out by Dylan Smith and Brant Hurter.

The bullpen will return fan favorite Yaya Chentouf to begin the year, while other SeaWolves veterans like Austin Bergner, Billy Lescher, Adam Wolf and Chance Kirby make up the Erie bullpen.

Tigers fourth-ranked prospect Colt Keith will begin the season at Double-A. He hit. 301 in 48 games last year for West Michigan. He drove in 32 runs. Gage Workman returns to Erie after playing 128 games last year for the SeaWolves. 

Gabe Alvarez will return for his second season as the Erie SeaWolves manager. The team opens the season Thursday, April 6th at Akron at 6:05 p.m. The home opener for the SeaWolves is set for Tuesday, April 11 against the Altoona Curve. The first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. at UPMC Park.
