Community members gathered at St Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church on East 13th Street on Saturday for the traditional blessing of the baskets.

This tradition dates back to at least the 15th century and is still maintained by most families in Poland and for those who settled here in the U.S.

The food items people brought in their were blessed with Father Jason Glover, who led the event.

The baskets are often lined with traditional folk fabric and covered with a white linen cloth, representing the shroud of Christ.
