PennDOT on Friday closed the Kane Rd. bridge over Brokenstraw Creek in Pittsfield Township, Warren County, due to deck deterioration and structural concerns discovered during a recent inspection.

The department is currently evaluating options to determine if the bridge will be removed, replaced or rehabilitated.

The 92-foot steel I-beam bridge, which is located between Old Garland Rd. and Route 27, is rated in poor condition and is inspected on a six-month cycle.

The bridge was used by approximately 400 vehicles per day and was built in 1958.

A detour using Cole Hill Rd., Old Garland Rd., Davey Hill Rd., Route 27 and Kane Rd. is posted.
