It's Wellness Week for senior citizens in our area, and the YMCA of Greater Erie's Eastside is doing their part to help.

All week long, the YMCA is hosting classes and events to promote wellness among the senior community, with a robust daily schedule of land and water activities.

Each day brings a new speaker, covering everything from fraud to providing free senior assessments. It's all aimed to promote wellness in the Erie community.

"The end goal is one to increase engagement, two bring access to different topics, and to increase the health of our seniors," said Ellen Hill, Director of Chronic Disease Programing.

Classes continue Thursday and Friday, and are free and open to the public.

They're also hosting a basket raffle fundraiser. Anyone is welcome to stop in to buy raffle tickets. Winners will be drawn on Friday, May 5.
