Pennsylvania State Police from the Girard barracks will be targeting impaired drivers with a sobriety checkpoint and roving patrols over Mother's Day weekend, according to a news release Monday.

Troopers did not disclose any specifics about locations, dates or times.

They are reminding anyone who plans on drinking alcohol to designate a sober driver.

State police also warn both illegal and legal drugs including prescriptions can make someone unable to safely drive a vehicle.
