The NWPA Pride Alliance has decided to change the step off location for this year's Pride parade after consulting with the Erie Police Department and Erie County Emergency Management.

Parade participants are being asked to gather on 11th Street at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24. The step off will take place at the intersection of 11th and State Streets at noon.

NWPA Pride said they came to this decision with the safety of all participants in mind. By moving the location closer to Perry Square, the Erie Police are now able to close off the entirety of State Street for the parade.

Previously, the parade had to remain in the north bound lanes while traffic was able to continue south bound.

Additionally, for the safety of all participants, NWPA Pride will not be allowing personal vehicles to join the parade this year.

Those interested in watching can line up along State Street and meet the parade goers in Perry Square for Pridefest.
