The bargaining teams for Wabtec and UE Local 506 have reached a tentative contract agreement, according to reports.

After a federal mediator got involved Friday, both sides reported progress in the talks.

Late Friday night, they agreed to extend the current contract and resume bargaining at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The executive board of UE 506 has decided to bring the company's latest offer to a membership vote June 22, according to union and company sources Saturday afternoon.

The two sides had been far apart on post-pandemic pay hikes, the progression of pay for new hires and the right to strike over grievances.

However, they apparently reached some middle ground. On UE 506's Facebook page, it says that employees should report to work on Monday.
