BUFFALO, NY (WNY News Now) – After three weeks of waiting Michael Burham is back in New York State.

Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced that the 34-year-old appeared in Federal Court Wednesday after being extradited from South Carolina.

Burham was captured in South Carolina two weeks after fleeing from New York State following the homicide of Kala Hodkin. He was wanted for questioning in that case, alongside warrants for a car fire and rape.

In addition, Burham is accused of kidnapping an elderly couple out of Warren County at gunpoint, making them drive him to South Carolina.

The DA is expected to provide an update later in the day.
