The Girard School Board will name David Koma as its next superintendent during its meeting Monday night.

He has spent 27 years as an educator. It includes four years as a teacher at Rice Ave. Middle School. He has also served as the school's principal since 2008.

Koma graduated with his Bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University and received his Master's degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

His wife has been a teacher at Elk Valley Elementary School and just wrapped up her first year as a librarian for the school district.

They have four children who all have attended or are currently attending Girard schools.
