Camp is the highlight of the summer for many kids. Thanks to envision blind sports, children with visual impairments had the opportunity to attend a week long sports camp.

Envision Blind Sports strives to encourage those that are visually impaired to participate in recreational activities.

"There's such a lack of programing in the country for individuals who are blind and visually impaired for sport and physical activity," said Envision Blind Sport's Director of Outreach Ben Friday. "So, you really have a chance to do something really cool that's really unique that you can't find anywhere else in the country."

80 kids from over 12 different states came together for a week long sports summer camp at Penn State Behrend.

Camp Director and Adaptive PE Teacher Jillian Stringfellow prides herself in the fact kids are getting the opportunity to participate in sports despite their disability.

"I'm an avid sports lover and think about all the things that we had when we were growing up. We could go to soccer, we could do softball, we could do all the things. And there's really not a lot of programs like that for these kids, especially within their community. So to give them access to this is pretty incredible," said Stringfellow.
