UPMC Hamot has partnered with the City of Erie for their Minutes Matter campaign. Part of Hamot's community outreach efforts include distribution free Narcan kits. 

UPMC Hamot and UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor have partnered to offer these free kits to the public. 

According to UPMC Hamot, Narcan is an emergency nasal spray medication that reverses opioid effects and can save the life of someone during an overdose. 

UPMC Hamot said they have distributed more than 200 kits to those who have requested them. 

Narcan kits will be distributed at the following community events: 

  • UPMC Sunset Music Series at Presque Isle – Wednesday
  • Discover Presque Isle - Friday and Saturday
  • Music series - Sunday evening
