Firefighters out in the North East battled a barn and grass fire on Williams Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Crews responded to the barn that caught on fire, and due to the current heat in our region, the grass near the barn caught on fire as well.

Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly but the barn was completely destroyed. Additionally, the family's home was saved from the fire. The home owner even went out with his hose to assist firefighters onsite.

No animals lived in the barn, no one was hurt.

Currently, fire crews are not sure what started the fire.
