Erie's Homeless Struggle as Temperatures Continue to Rise
While most are able to beat the heat by heading inside, for Erie's homeless population, it's not that easy.
"I'm just staying out of the sun and keeping hydrated," said Daniel Rodriguez, who's been experiencing homelessness for two weeks. "Drinking a lot of water...staying out of that sun because that's sun is hot."
The Erie City Mission hopes to help those who are struggling with the high temperatures.
"There's a lot of people coming through our doors, they eat public lunch and public breakfast, and maybe to get the AC, and to get cold water, something cold to drink, to cool off a little bit from the humidity outside and the heat outside," said Curtis Jones, who works with many of Erie's homeless at the Erie City Mission.
The Mission is always looking for water donations, and volunteers, you can find more on their website.
