A growing sport, pickle-ball, has the ability to bring people together.

"It's changed our lives. We came back to Kim's hometown and we met 150 people that we never knew before. So now they're all our friends," Doug James, the president of Warren Pickleball Inc. said.

James and other board members welcomed the Warren pickleball community to eight new courts. He said one special component of the sport is that the fun isn't limited by age or skill.

"Well, pickleball, you can play almost anybody, at any age or skill level. You don't have to be an athlete. You come out, you get a lot of exercise. There's a lot of friendliness with the players, and it's very broad reaching," James said.

Maureen Moore and Ellen Scalise have been playing for over a year, and they play three or four mornings a week.
"Perfect way to spend our retirement. Gets us out of the house, gets us busy. It's good for our joints. We enjoy it," Scalise said.

Moore said there were many things about the sport that she enjoys.

"The camaraderie, the friends, you know, the. Activity, the exercise. It's active for us.You know, I just I have a lot of fun," Moore said.

Moore and Scalise said they're excited to get on the court, and encourage others to try the new courts out too.

"If you haven't tried it, come on down and try lots of fun. We we always welcome new people," Scalise said.
