On West Grandview Boulevard , the LECOM Visiting Nurses Association continued the tradition of a butterfly release on Saturday.

It was the organization's 18th Annual Wings of Hope Butterfly Release.

People gathered for a non-denominational service of remembrance for loved ones and then released  hundreds of butterflies to represent remembering and letting go of those they've lost.

The Visiting Nurses Association of Erie County is a partnership of LECOM Health and the Allegheny Health Network. The non-profit has been providing home health and hospice services to the Erie community since 1905.
