A motorcyclist died Saturday after a crash in Millcreek, the latest in a growing trend of motorcycle deaths.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says 8 motorcyclists have died in crashes this year, equaling the total from all of last year.
In the last four years, fatal crashes have risen from 2 in 2019 to at least 8 this year.
Cook says motorcyclists need to be aware of risks on the road.
Riding can be dangerous, and even if the motorcyclist does everything right, it only takes a moment for a car to kill a rider.

"They're dangerous even at the best of times," Cook said. "If you're going to ride, be extremely vigilant, avoid intoxicants and watch for the other drivers."
