The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office has cited Albion Fire Department to appear in court next month in Erie County over fire equipment that a Multi-Municipal Emergency Services Commission says Albion took to a different department.

Gery Nietupski, solicitor for the Multi-Municipal Emergency Services Commission, said the equipment is no longer in Erie County.

"They have removed outside of Erie County, outside of the four sponsoring municipalities and placed it at a volunteer fire house in Crawford County," Nietupski said.

Brandon Kennedy, President of the Cranesville Fire Department said, "we do not have the funds to replace the equipment that is missing from the building so we are hoping the Pennsylvania Attorney General can get things resolved and get the equipment back where it belongs."

"The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office is demanding that representatives of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department present themselves in the Court of Common Pleas of Erie County to explain what they are doing, why they are doing it and to give a full accounting of all the assets of that they have taken from Erie County.

Both, Nietupski and Kennedy, said that this is a community matter and only the residents count.

"The municipalities that represent them are trying to do everything they can to get it back for their protection and their benefit," Nietupski said.

"We are trying to do as much as we can over there with the funds we have available while also not spending funds on things that might be duplicated if we do get the things back that we believe we deserve to have back in the community," Kennedy said.
