PEMA Deploys Pa. Task Force 1 to Hawaii to Assist with Search & Rescue Efforts

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) will be deploying two members of PA Task Force 1 to Maui, Hawaii.
The two task force members will be part of a 28 member Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Incident Support Team (IST).
According to PEMA, Maui has suffered extensive damage to infrastructure from catastrophic wildfires over the past several days, leaving dozens dead and hundreds missing.
PEMA said deployed staff are expected to begin working as early as Sunday, August 13. The deployment will last approximately two weeks.
