Some local legislators got a chance to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand to the community Monday afternoon.

It was the 8th annual Legislative Challenge at the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Several local leaders and their staffs faced off in some friendly competition to benefit our neighbors in need.

It's also an opportunity for the legislators to see how the Second Harvest operates and the critical work they do for the community.

"Second Harvest Food Bank has done a tremendous job of bridging the gap between the needs of the community and where people are, so [we're] making sure that we do our part to help," said State Rep. Bob Merski. "Second Harvest Food Bank is critically important to us."

This was the first time the food bank held this annual challenge since the pandemic.
