The Tamarack Wildlife Center released a young female Bald Eagle at Pymatuning State Park on Wednesday morning.

The center originally planned on releasing two birds, but decided the second male Eagle need more time in treatment due to a beak issue.

The young bird called Athena was released by a team of volunteers from the wildlife center. The center said it was Athena's first time flying in the open air.

The center plans on hosting an Open House in October for anyone interested in learning more about the organization.
