A man faces a list of charges including attempted homicide following a stabbing in North East Borough early Monday morning, according to police.

It was reported in the first block of Clinton St. around 1:19 a.m.

Officers at the scene found a 37-year-old man with a stab wound to the neck, investigators said.

A witness said the suspect - who was later identified as Michael Desantis Jr., 27 - arrived at an apartment in the area, argued and fought with the victim before stabbing him in the throat and taking off, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Desantis was arrested within an hour and arraigned on charged including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and possession of an instrument of crime. He sent to the Erie County Prison with bond set at $100,000.

He is scheduled to return to court Sept. 14 for a preliminary hearing.
