Very precise work is being done at an Erie County business that's moved a few times because of growing clients around the globe.

The intricate process of bottles being filled, starts with different pieces that are made at Process & Data Automation, located in Erie county.

"We're a type of engineer for hire," said Jeremy Anderson, President of Process & Data Automation. "We focus mainly on the food and beverage industry, specifically, we build factory automation."

What the company creates locally are panels, panels that help fill everything from cereal to drink boxes

"Erie, Pennsylvania all the way to Los Angeles, California, Montreal, Canada and Jamaica," said Anderson.

The work of the development team even stretches further across the globe, thanks to the Krones Group, which acquired process and data automation in 2017, 15 years after the company launched as a regional business for food and beverage suppliers in the area.

"Krones, if you don't know it, is the largest manufacturer of food manufacturing in the world," said Anderson.

Starting in sales, Jeremy Anderson has seen the company's success over his 13 years at Process & Data Automation. In 2021, he became president. He told Erie News Now the plan is to grow the employee base every year, moving forward.

Process & Data Automation is located inside Knowledge Park on the campus of Penn State Behrend and 80 percent of the company's workforce are Penn State Behrend graduates.

There are more than 50 full-time employees. Though the growth that started at the hands of two men in 2002 is worldwide.

"No matter what our reach is, this is where we call home," said Anderson. "Working for the local manufacturers is every bit as important to us as growing our presence across the global players as well."
