Penn State Behrend has installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on its Harborcreek Township campus, according to a news release issued Tuesday.

The charging stations can be also be used by anyone driving near the college including motorists on Interstate 90.

The college has installed three charging stations - two in the Prischak parking lot, near the School of Science complex, and another in the Burke Center parking deck.

The stations can serve six vehicles at a time and connect to ChargePoint, which is the world’s largest network of EV-charging options. They are also listed on ChargePoint's map.

Behrend is the first college in Erie County with EV chargers on campus.

Funding from a PA Driving Forward grant, Penn State Sustainability and Behrend campus resources were used to pay for the charging stations.
