Downtown Erie Indoor Rock Climbing Gym to Open November 6
ASCEND Erie, an indoor rock climbing gym located in downtown Erie, will officially open to the public on November 6.
The rock climbing gym is offering founding members a grand opening ASCEND Erie t-shirt, and access to the gym during their soft-open weekend.
ASCEND said founding membership sales will end on November 5.
The gym will feature a 52 foot high wall, taller than any other climbing wall in nearby Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh area.
"It's about 17,500 square feet of space," said Corey Cook, Director of Operations & Logistics at the Erie Downtown Development Corporations, which is helping in the construction of the climbing gym.
"There's a four story rock climbing wall on the back, two-story rock climbing wall here in the front. There's also a bouldering area upstairs. And then there's also like a traditional gym. So you'll have free weights, cardio equipment and other things like that that you'll be able to enjoy."
Prices for prepaid memberships start at $35 until October 15th, then raise over the next month
