Pharmacy workers at several CVS and Walgreens locations nationwide have organized a walkout in protest for better working conditions, with today being the third and final day. According to NBC News, a reported 900 people in 10 states walked out, but none here in Erie.

"I came from one of the chains to the independent realm and you know it's a night and day difference," said Ciarra Bodner, a pharmacist at the independent Darling's Pharmacy.

"When I left that was about a year and a half ago and that's when I thought it was kind of getting to the point where I was not able to sacrifice anymore putting people at risk potentially because you're just being asked to do way too much and you don't have the help you need especially during vaccine season."

"They feel that they're putting patients in danger because they do not have the staff and resources to get their job properly and safely done and just being pushed to keep putting the prescriptions out and they don't feel that it's safe for the patients that they do care about."
