While the ribbon cutting was Friday night for the ASCEND Erie, the rock climbing wall in downtown Erie, members got a chance to test out the rock climbing gym this weekend.

New and existing members could get a workout in and try the various obstacles and walls.
ASCEND Erie is a two-story facility that allows people of all ages to come and enjoy climbing rock walls.
After people sign a waiver and get the proper climbing equipment, they are then ready to climb the walls.

Saturday's event also gave people interested in being a member a chance to see if they want to make the commitment and buy a membership.
Members can also test out the gym on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The grand opening for ASCEND Erie is set for Monday. They will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on weekdays and then 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on weekends.

People can be a member, purchase a day pass or get a punch pass to use the facilities.
