The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is offering a two day antlered and antlerless deer hunt at Presque Isle State Park.

The hunt kicked off on Wednesday, December 6 and will continue on Thursday, December 7. According to the DCNR, the hunt assists with maintaining a healthy number of deer within the ecosystem and Presque Isle.

Up to 85 hunters will be allowed to hunt using shotguns that are not semi-automatic and are loaded with slug ammunition, black-powder muzzleloaders, or archery equipment for both antlered and antlerless deer.

According to Presque Isle, 32 hunters were in the woods on Wednesday. 2 doe, 3 button buck, and 1 8-point buck was harvested.

During the second day of Presque Isle's regulated deer hunt, 21 hunters were out in the woods. According to the state park, 1 doe was harvested on Thursday.

Over the course of two days, a total of 53 hunters were in the woods and 7 deer were harvested.
