McDowell senior offensive lineman Cooper Cousins is one of the top football recruits in the country, committed to play for Penn State starting next year.

He has been an anchor on the offensive line that helped the Trojans win the District 10 6A Championship last Friday.

Cousins has received the opportunity to play with the top senior football players in the country. The 6'6" 315-pound interior offensive lineman has been selected to play in the NBC Sports All-American Bowl on Jan. 6th, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. The game will air on NBC.

The game features the top 100 senior players in the country each year. Cousins will play for the East team.

Cousins, according to the McDowell coaching staff, is just the second Trojans player to earn an invite to the All-American Bowl. Kyle Mitchum was selected in 2004 and went on to play at Ohio State.

Cousins, according to the school, is tentatively set to graduate early and enroll at Penn State for the spring semester.
