PennDOT, Pa. DUI Association Highlight Seat Belt Safety Ahead of Holiday Season

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Pennsylvania DUI Association are coming together to remind motorists of the importance of buckling up and driving sober this holiday season.
The organizations are highlighting Pennsylvania State Police's "Click It or Ticket" campaign that began on November 13 and runs through November 26. They also highlighted the upcoming holiday season impaired driving campaign from November 22 to January 1.
During this period, state and local law enforcement officials will be participating in high visibility enforcement efforts.
According to PennDOT, there were 14,342 crashes across the state, resulting in 124 fatalities between Nov. 23, 2022 and Jan. 2, 2023.
“Every life is important. Buckle up for those you care about,” said Mercer County Coroner John Libonati. “Wearing your seat belt is the simplest and most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in the event of a crash.”
