Opening day of Pennsylvania's statewide firearms deer season is this Saturday, November 25. The season runs through Saturday, December 9, excluding Sunday, December 3. 

According to the National Deer Association, Pennsylvania ranked in the top five states in 2021 for antlered buck harvest; antlered buck harvest per square mile; antlerless deer harvest; antlerless deer harvest per square mile; and antlerless deer per antlered buck harvest. 

The Pennsylvania Game Commission said hunters harvested an estimated 422,960 white-tailed deer last season (2022-23). 

Hunters are permitted to harvest one antlered deer with a valid general hunting license. More information on licenses can be found here
