Hands-on learning is taken to the next level at Iroquois Junior-Senior High School this year, with a student project launched into space.

The student spaceflight experiments program gave five students the chance of a lifetime. The experiment is expected to test the effects of microgravity on crystal growth.

Five Iroquois students worked with their advisors to pose one question. And put it to the test -- in space.

The project took a year of prep work, and it launched on Space-X earlier this month. A truly unique learning opportunity for the school.
