Multiple organizations came together to help kids in the community get ready for winter, by giving out coats Monday night.

At the Booker T Washington Center, Santa came to visit for this coat drive put on by a collaboration between the Knights of St. Joseph from Girard, the Booker T. Washington Center, and Men of the Community.

They gave away over 200 coats for kids in the Booker T. Washington Center's after-school program, and in the area. Though this is the first year, the CEO of Men of the Community says it won't be the last.

"Our goal as the Men of the Community, is just to help the community in general. Whatever needs, whatever we can do, whatever the Knights of St Johns or Booker T Washington can do, we just want to be one big part of helping the community out," said Roosevelt Benjamen, CEO and Founder of Men of the Community.

Benjamen says they hope to make this coat drive an annual event, and are more than willing in the future to work with other organizations to help with community needs.
