There's a family in Crawford County that dazzles people every year with wonderful outdoor holiday displays. They love it so much that they started to construct their Christmas display before Halloween.  Now, their front yard is in full Christmas mode with many colorful lights flashing in sync to music.

I’m back at the Holby residence on Rogers Road near Spartansburg.  I was here in October when the family had a Halloween and a Christmas display in their front yard. Now, it's all Christmas.  The bats, black cats, and witches we saw last October have been replaced in the Holby family front yard. Their hilltop house is now surrounded by everything Christmas and this year's display is spectacular.  It’s a breathtaking experience to approach the property from Route 89 and you take it all in.

There's a section with a Christmas town.  It has a truck parked beside a toy store and a hardware store.  In the background is a big, bright Christmas tree. Who's standing in the middle of the town?  It's Olaf, the snowman!

The heart of the display is the Holby's house decorated from top to bottom.  On top of the beautiful house is a Christmas star. Up in the sky, you can see Santa and his reindeer flying towards the house.  In the yard are various trees, candy canes, and other Christmas figures.  Everything is controlled by a computer and synchronized to music. Melissa Holby sets up the display with help from her father.

"We've had a lot of people come out. I've been really surprised,” she said.  “Even with some of the downpours we've had the last week, there were still people sitting out here in the rain.  They're almost a little more dedicated than I am."

A bright, colorful Christmas train is on other side of the house. It's a sight to see.  The train is surrounded by many Christmas trees, candles, and candy canes.  The Holby's put up a Christmas display every year and always introduce something new. This year, it's a mailbox where kids can send a letter to Santa. There’s also a brand new photogenic elf.

"The Selfie Elf.  You can get your picture taken. It has a cutout for your head so you can get your picture taken in the elf,” says Melissa.

The Holby's holiday display is a must-see for everyone in the area who loves Christmas. People come to see it in cars, trucks, and Amish buggies.  This is rural Crawford County, but it's worth the trip.

"We had some teenagers out here dancing in the yard.  They were off their phones and dancing.  So, life is good,” says Melissa.

The display has been in full operation since the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  It will be remain lit-up during the week after New Year's Day. To see it for yourself, travel on Route 89 until you get to Berkey's Nursery.  Turn onto Rogers Road, go up the hill, and you can't miss it.
